Here's number two from the model T leaf spring. Started out as an asymetric double bit hawk but I hated it soooo it turned into a blade shaped spike with a small hawk blade. It throws like a dream, sticks both ways has nice balance. Handle is from a very straight grain Ash long handle shovel, carved down for the grip and wrapped in rawhide and brass tacked. Blade covers are veggitan inside out, dyed and painted with Sioux morning star and brass tacked in a diamond. The drop is rawhide showing a morning star on one side and a Warriors exploit tally on the other side. Bows drawn string up with an Eagle feather hanging indicates a coup counted against another Warrior in battle. It indicates that the Warrior had either killed another Warrior or even better, humiliated the other by just touching him with a coupstick.

Best regards

Robin

Nice job and thanks for the story behind the detail on the drop. Very interesting !

Wonderfully made Robin, I’m going to have to ask you to make an axe for me later on.

Can that axe be called a spontoon tomahawk?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments.
Edwin, It does have the basic profile of a spontoon but I think it needs the curly turn backs, I may make a spontoon next. Well next after the big spear and the atlatl i'm working on.

It seems that there is a primitive arms race hitting up around here. I exited to see what’s next. :)

You are right Edwood. Robin and Randy seem to challenge and inspire each other in a good way for the rest of us. Go for it guys.

Hey Howard, Both Edwin and Randy inspire me. I get borded pretty easily, hate making two of anything, always looking for something I haven't made before. Right now I'm working on a big spear that excites me. My new grinder bit me yesterday, a nice Big chunk out of my finger. ;-(((( It would have been finished by now if I had been paying attention to where my hand was
;'''-(( Coming soon, atlatls..

Makes my hand hurt to just think about what you did. Hope you are feeling better! Looking forward to seeing your spear. I like them. I'm really excited about the atlatl too. I bought one for my son for Christmas two years ago. I also used one when I was in Australia.

Thanks Chris. My finger is healing ;-)) must learn to pay attention. ;-))

Hey Randy, I should have been using a file but the angle grinder was in my hand ;-)) Thanks Bro, it's seems usable again.

Hi Pat. it came out looking kinda "no nonsense" and when that blade sinks into my target tree you know it. Really a great thrower. Thanks and best regards
