Modern Fire Methods

i've ordered a Rat Pack kit with should come with an ESEE fire kit.. can't wait to try it. Mostly im gonna have a lot of use of the small waterproof compartment. seem like having much trouble getting a spark there in the video
 
Cool beans! My 10yr old and I were out hiking today and trying his hand at fire by magnesium and flint for the first time. We tested out petrolium jelly/cotton balls and jute string with and without the magnesium etc. Good stuff. Who would have thunk about the dryer lint. That's a never ending resource right under my nose. Excellent stuff thanks for sharing, now I need to go add some things to the pack.

Cool vid marko. The fire kit takes a bit of getting used to. Definitely not something peopel should throw in the gear and never try before heading in to the woods.

agreed. took me quite a few tries to get comfortable with it. my girlfriend however, was a master on the first try.
