I've been on a Benchmade binge recently and have decided I want to find a quality USA made folder for preferably less than $75.00 but tapped out at $100. I'm looking for both options and opinions. Strongly considering some Kershaw's although they're massive amount of overseas production frustrates me. I guess if I buy American that will help to keep those products here? Who knows. Buck is also on the radar.

Criteria:

USA Made
4 Inch Handle (or more)
Good Steel
Constructed with screws rather than rivets.
Pocketable in khakis.

That's a knife that I am strongly considering actually.

It's nice for a sensible edc. Very fine tip. I had the rainbow version and very foolishly sold it, for next to nothing. I've always wanted to try the d2 composite version too.

Buck vantage pro with s30v maybe? Ive always wanted one myself but something else always comes along I like better. As for the leek, I may get flamed, but I just don't care for the leek. It's like hanging onto a greased eel when it's wet with the slim and smooth handles. I've had one for years and carried it for a few months, but I couldn't warm up to it. You could also watch the exchange and maybe pick up a ZT if your patient.

This is my best advice. Spend exactly $100 (from CS with free shipping) and get a Spyderco LW Manix 2 in S110V. I know the handle is pinned, but the pivot is torx. Give this a chance, I guarantee you won't regret it.

Buck Vantage Pro or Marksman, both have very good steel and the Buck heat treat.

um... spyderco manix 2 may got ur attention, but the body is riveted although the pivot is screw-ed.

Composite blade Leek. S30V Blur. Black washed Skyline. The upcoming Camber also looks fantastic.

Go to the large South American jungle internet site and type in "Junkyard Dog II" and look what comes up.

A very well built knife made here in America, an extremely sturdy knife that has a real G10 handle, smooth as silk opening, excellent steel (two of them!) and is made for heavy use. Plenty of handle to hang onto and it rides really nice in the pocket although it is a bit large. I love mine and use it in my construction work quite a bit.

All for $70 delivered! Three years ago I paid a heckuva lot more for the one I have now! Great knife, and it ever comes with Kershaw's ironclad lifetime guarantee.
