hey everybody..
just a little preview of something i am working on. got a few friction folders in the works. The blades have been heat treated and rough ground. so final polish and fitting is next , then final shaping of the handles.

Handle materials left to right in the top picture:
Madagascar ebony
Kevlar phenolic (super hard)
Green G10
Carbon fiber

Comments and critiques are appreciated. this is the first hollow grinding i have done in about 5 years, so go easy...

I will be keeping the ebony knife, but the other three will be up for sale after completion.

thanks for looking!

I like them, Chris.
I see more of an interest with these folders.
Get yer grubby fingerprints off the blades. :)

I would be keeping the ebony also! I like how you profiled the handle on the ebony knife. They look great!

Hey everybody!
thanks for the comments. the ebony knife is actaully the one with all the "flaws" in it, which is why i would be keeping it. however, i am going to be making another just like it with a wrough-iron san mai blade.

also, all the knives will be contoured and cleaned up. i just hadnt gotten around to it yet. is that why you like it more, or is it the shape?
thanks!
~Chris

i was thinking about $150 but i have yet to make a final decision on that. all the handles will be contoured and the blades will be flat ground and polished.
thanks!

Are you sure that you aren't using Macassar ebony (D. macassar)? All of the Madagascar ebony (D. Perreiri) I've used is jet black.

They look good, by the way.
