Made this one from a billet of Alabama Damascus twist pattern. Handle is old growth California redwood burl, stabilized, from Burl Source. Design is my own. Full convex grind, and my ergonomic handle design. Sheath is courbouilled leather, so it's water resistant, despite being leather. I still haven't gotten a pic of the ambidextrous dangler belt loop though.

Another shout out to Mark at Burl Source and to Lacy and Brad at Alabama Damascus for being such amazingly stellar folks. The last billet of damascus I got from Alabama Damascus turned out to have a flaw in one part of the billet, and they sent me this billet for free to replace it. Can't beat service like that. Also, another great heat treat by Darrin Sanders. Unfortunately, he's no longer doing blades this long, so I'll be turning to Peters HT for the monosteel version of this that I'm planning, unless someone else has another recommendation.

One mighty knife, like the gorgeous looking handle and the sturdy water proof sheath.

It is one of the most unusual choppers I have seen.
Looks like a lot of work went into the sculpted handle.
Would be fun to see an in hand photo.
....maybe some action/chopping photos.

As you can see, if you choke up, you'll be a lot closer to neutral balance, whereas if you're in the standard spot, it's going to be balanced forward for chopping.

Thanks for posting the photos.
Makes you want to go and chop your way through the jungle.
