I'm looking for a modern equivalent. Cold steel has the Scottish Spike, but I don't think the sheath has a IWB clip. CS also has the Braveheart and the Mini Culloden (discontinued), but they both have kraton handles, which tends to grab clothing and cause it to "ride up".

Not sure about the handle material on the Gerber Guardian. If these are like the old ones, the blades are too thick/angled for a good edge.

Does the CRKT sting sheath have an IWB provision?

How about the Fallkniven Garm handle and sheath?

Himalayan Imports makes a very nice Sgian Dubh, It was made to honor our former mod and friend Rusty Slate. It comes in various handle materials and feels very nice in the hand. They show up in the DOTD's from time to time, but you can always email Aunt Yangdu to order one. There are quite a few owners who swear by them. Here is a older thread showing a very nice example by Steve Ferguson.

I have an original pattern Guardian and it takes a nice shaving edge--I can't comment on the later ones. BTW, the handle is aluminum, just like the old MK I and MK IIs.

I had an original Culloden and it was wicked sharp and pointy--I suppose one could be rehandled if one didn't like the Kraton.

Take a look through the custom gallery--there are some very nice Sgian Dubhs there.

You could even make your own--a foot of .125 1080 is around $6.00--add some walnut slabs for a few bucks, heat treating and a couple of pins....

id look at the ones from Koyote Knives nice stuff!....he has a subforum here at bladeforums in the makers section.
