I'm looking for modern slipjoints, so I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations?

Modern slipjoints like the Boker CLB XS.

I wasn't sure where to post this; here, or the traditional forum, so I apologize if this is the wrong forum.

Sanrenmu is offering a widening array of modern slip joints, many one hand opening, some using backspring construction, others using ball detente style construction. They may be one of the few sources of a slip joint with a usable flipper.

What do you mean by modern? Clip and one hand opening, or just modern designs, patterns and steels? BobT spyderco is a great knife for that.

If you mean just moderd designs and patterns. CRKT just released some new modern slipjoints by Steigerwalt (IIRC). Swiss Army slipjoints are modern. Fantoni makes a modern one based upon a Loveless pattern.

Spyderco UKPK is a favorite of mine. Strong backspring holds it open, forward finger choil allows a one hand closing.

I provided an example; Boker CLBS XS.

But, modern materials, modern designs, etc, are all good. Ie, like a traditional slipjoint design in carbon fiber, or a tanto slipjoint, etc. :p

Thanks for all the suggestions! Keep em coming, please!

I've been looking at the Spyderco Slip-its -- but, the one I like the most, the Terzuola Slip-it, is discontinued! :S

Falllkniven U1 is nice, I EDCed one while working in England for a while. It's a bit on the small side (the blade is barely over 6cm), though.

I've got a Spyderco T Mag that's not a slipjoint, it uses a magnet, but is kind of cool for those times when I can't have a locking knife. I got it for $50 when Spyderco had a sale (S30V, carbon fiber, US made, a rather good deal). You can probably find one on the secondary market. Spyderco also has the UKPK series, Squeak and Pingo (I love the blade shape on that one!).

Boker offers non-locking versions of some of the Chad Los Banos knives like the Subcom or Trance.

CRKT has the Liong Mah, I liked the design and carry clip but the blade steel kept me from buying it (8cr14mov).

Enzo's PK70s are very good, even though I'm not crazy about a Scandi grind on a pocket knife.

Fantoni Dweller could be another option, as well as the Mcusta Money Clip. Both lovely knives, but rather small (blades around 6cm). I like the Dweller a lot.

If you want something with modern design and materials, you might want to check out the Three Rivers LTC200. I've only read about it when looking for UK legal EDC knives, no first hand experience with it. It's got a CPM 154 blade, titanium frame with G-10 overlays (which come in different colours and patterns), low riding pocket clip, and an opening hole on the blade.

Scurvy's recommendation is right on, Vagnino's zipslips are wonderful. I bought a mate of mine one of his sheepfoot models since they're UK legal and he loves it. I wish I'd bought one for myself.

Very good knife. It comes with a pocket clip but I almost prefer to carry it with out one.

Ideal for NYC. Without a lock, they can't call it a gravity knife, 3" blade is well under their limit of under 4" but is long enough for real work. And without the clip it can sit deep in your pocket without printing so they wouldn't even see it to ask.
