Modern survival courses?

I guess if I was going to prison I'd probably pay him for a little inside knowledge ;)

Advice #1 he gives

Dont drop the soap in the shower:eek:

Advice #2

Dont bend over and pick it up:D

again, excuse the cold medicine for talking for me. still sick;)

I'm not sure how him spending only three months in a federal penitentiary makles him an expert on survival in da' joint. But he gets an "A" for creative marketing.

I reckon that either directly or indirectly, this coach will get some federal stimulus funding. In other words, our money will go to pay him to coach someone who ripped us off.

Sounds like you got it right ...

Wouldn't the best advice be: stay out of prison?

see you are just hating now. Why would you want to take this poor man's income source by advising people to stay out of prison. Besides, then they would have to get a real job. Why are your forcing people to work. Cant we just subsidize them with government money instead?

Noooooooooo, you got it entirely wrong. He only has to adjust his rules, cause his rule No. 1 is quite nice but with his intended customer base, the first rule has to be the rule I stated - they wouldn't have to bend over to get into physical distress in prison ...

Let's get serious about this though... as bad as it seems (and is), we do this every day as a government. We pay crooks and criminals to help us - As informants, as sources for intelligence, etc. I know a guy right now that has been to prison several times for his meth labs. According to LE, he makes the best meth in the business (I guess they have a way of testing this?) so they have let him out of prison to teach cops how he does it. He now works for LE as a trainer. So, bitch all you want about this guy teaching prison skills to others......

True we read about safe crackers and hackers that have been given a get out of jail card to help teach LEOs their skills, but this is a guy teaching another crook the best way to make it in jail. Of course thinking it thru, crooks teaching other crooks isnt anything new either.

well yea , in seriousness people are doing the logical thing. they are seeing there risks and then taking action in some form to prepare for it. which i agree with. and if there survival scenario is prison instead of jungle survival i can see it. and there are probably things that atleast a little coaching would give some one the confidence needed to serve there time.

I'm sure he imparts some skills that they were lacking , if its value for money i dont know. but its just odd that there is a demand for this training. i think that the reason it exisit is kinda of telling. i have lost a few friends to the prison system over the years and its like the military it does change people. i guess why the term con college seams well earned. go in and learn how every one else messed up, and learn new tricks.

Sure, and I learned a trick or two from burglars as did the author of "Locks, Safes & Security". If you're into security and need to keep someone out, you need to know how the someone is likely to think.

Or if you got to catch those guys ...

This seems a little different though - not that I care much, people earn their living teaching much weirder things ...

Done the right way, this could even work as deterrent ...

I have always wanted to spend some time with someone that's served a long hitch in prison, just to learn the tricks of the trade on the inside. Not because I figure I'm going there but in many ways this is the ultimate survival skills and could be very useful should you get captured overseas, etc. I look at everything as knowledge. It's how that knowledge is used in the hands of a person whether it makes it bad or not. Same with the gun debate. The knowledge (or tool) itself is not bad. I have no problem with what the guy is doing, but then again, I'm a libertarian (small L).

A lot of truth in it, I agree. But I doubt he has us in mind as customers. On the other hand I learned that common sense and keeping your wits about you is most useful in any given situation. Kind of like the advice my hubby gave our kids: Keep a low profile, only be seen when it is useful to be seen, and if you absolutely have to fight, hit to win. (Urban setting with youth gangs that rob other youngsters.)
