Hello all. I have a possible commission, and was wondering if anyone would know of a smith/maker that would be able to do it. I am aware that many makers/smiths don't like working on blades that they themselves did not create, and am hoping I can find an exception to that. My project involves a Cheness Oniyuri, and my desire is to have a set of "modern" fittings made. Ideally, a once piece tsuka, laminated G10, and a saya to match, either G10 or carbon fiber. Anyone know a 'smith that would be willing to take this on? All other fittings will be done by me. Thanks!

FOD is a BF member that has made some phenolic laminate sayas, he also makes phenolic laminates for custom handle material. He's in the maker's area, look in the knife supplies for sale sub-sub-sub forum. If you posed this question in the makers area you'd probably get some replies from interested parties.

Just thought about it, Chris Moss does some excellent work and has used micarta for a tsuba and I think some other fitting on one of his pieces. Very very very talented maker. I believe he's "knifemaker87" on BF.
