Modernized SCUBA/DEMO ?

A few days ago I saw a SCUBA/DEMO in a shop. The blade was very impressive but the handle looks a bit too fancy to me.

I think this versatile blade shape would also work great in a "modernized" package. I could imagine a TiNi coated version with a Seal Knife handle or something like that. With a capable secure sheath, this could be a knife that you actually could use for diving, climbing and so on.

A compact version in SealPup size could also be great and even more versatile.

I know that double edged knives are not allowed in some places, but the SOG daggers are also great sellers so I think those could be too.

I also know that the SCUBA/DEMO is a classic and some people may not like my ideas. This are just some thoughts that came to my mind and I think that this could be great knife. So what do you guys think?

Thank you for looking.

Great ideas. I like the way you are thinking. Maybe we will make something similar to what you are requesting.

Thank you Chris!

It would be great to see a knife like that in the future. I hope that works out good at SOG.

Think the Scuba/Demo can do with an upgrade.
A complete make-over, doin' away with classic leather and brass fittings.
As stands now, it does makes for a fine wall hanger for the Vietnam Military Knife Collector.
It's not for everyone, especially the youthful minded tech savvy knife user.
So let's see that new version out before world peace is restored!
I say go for it.

Hello all

This is a photoshop created example of how a "SCUBA/DEMO Pup" could look.
I'm sorry for the bad quality. The proportions are not perfect but I hope it still gives some impressions of that possible knife. This would be a great compact knife, very capable as a tool and a weapon.

One problem that came to my mind is, that due to the finger grooves it wouldn't be very comfortable to hold the knife "upper edge down". Maybe a symetric grip like the one from the Daggert and GovTac would fit the needs of this blade better. Well, I still would like this version here. Simply looks cool to me. :D

Please tell me what you all think.

Thanks for looking.

RogerRabbit: Now it DOES look like a true diving knife!
And yes, it could work out better for the fingers if it came complete with steel pounding butt 'n a much higher guard. Me thinks such a future knife, could be a Combat Swimmer's best amphibious buddy.

I am really, really diggin the looks of that photoshop Hybrid  .
If it was made like in the pic with the scuba/demo blade being shrunk to fit the pup handle, it would just be too awesome!:thumbup: .

Sweet photoshop job Tom!

Regards,
Eric
