I've been looking at a Tops Tracker, but I don't like the inline saw teeth. Can the teeth be modified in any way? Like grinding on opposite sides to create offset teeth. Not sure if this can be done without making them weak. Any ideas? BTW, Can't afford a Linger version right now.

Don't know about your Tops question, but just send Roger Linger the money you do have so he can mark you place in line. Then save for the rest. You will be much happier with a custom!

please correct me if i'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the teeth are already offset. I'd imagine that a company as big in the industry as TOPS wouldn't sell an disfunctional product. especially for that kind of price tag.

I have a Tops Tracker at the house right now that I am thinning the edge on. SAW teeth are inline and not offset.

I suspect the teeth hardened and not easily filed or machined. They may need to be ground if wanting to alter (I have never seen a TOPS Tracker).
