Hello all,
Here are some pics of the modifications I have made to a Camillus Arc Lite.
I wrapped the handle with camo cord that I got at Home Depot, and I also removed the neck chain and replaced it with the same cord. I used the underwrap technique shown on the Running Dog website: http://runningdogknife.homestead.com/cordwrap.html
Steve Harvey had mentioned that in order to wrap his Arc Lite he had to put scales on it first because the cord will not pull through due to the holes in the Arc Lites handle. He was right, so instead of trying to put scales on it I simply cut out two strips of cardboard from the back of a writing pad and covered the holes with it and then wrapped. For the neck cord I had to remove the inside of the cord in order to get it to fit through the tiny holes that the chain went through. I then tied the ends to the cord and burned off the excess so now it is adjustable in the same style as Newt Livesays neck knives. These changes made such an improvement. To be honest with you, without the changes the knife would have wound up in the bottom of a draw. It was too uncomfortable to carry or use. The chain was too skinny and uncomfortable and so was the handle(IMHO). Since I made these improvements, I have not taken the knife off yet
I would like to give a big thanks to all those who responded to a previous question I had about cord wrapping, thanks guys. Well, I hope you enjoy the pics. Take care.
