another thread made me think of this question....but in reference to the black coating they put on the cold steel lawman...is there any safe way to remove it without a dremel tool or other power tool that might damage the blade?

hey, i'm in the Burgh too. Anyhow, you can sctratch it right off provided you're using something that is a softer steel. i was actually testing this with a brass ket the other day, i am thinking of doing the same thing with my old style ak-47. if you do this please post pics!

i was thinking of trying that CLR stuff actually, spilled some close to one of my handguns one time and took the blued finish right off..but thats a whole nother story, i just dont wanna ruin a perfectly good blade, i just HATE that black finish
