Buck has done some great modified versions of the 110 that I drool over. I recognize that this is the iconic American knife, but I have small hands, and the 112 fits me great.

Any plans to do some of the same type modifications for 112?

As in?

TMK, pretty much everything that gets done to the 110 also applies to the 112 with perhaps the exception of some of the more recent micarta colors.

Finger grooves, the nylon lightweight edition. There were some 110 Special Editions I really liked, but I can't find a reference to them now.

I've been chasing and collecting 112's since 2006 and it's my favorite Buck of all. But there is many varations of the 110 that never happens to the 112. Handle material, colors, emblems ,blade styles and steel. .the list goes on. To Bucks credit in the last 5 years we see much more variety for 112's than at any time in the past. When I started collecting a nickel silver frame 112 was rare and there was less than dozen gold etched blades compared to well over 100 in 110's. Most of that is because the 110 is a is such a iconic knife and collected and bought by far more customers than the 112 so naturally Buck makes more. It's in the Custom Shop for good I think now but I'll bet it's 3 or 4 times as many CS 110's verses the 112. I'm really encouraged Buck features S35VN in recent build out 112's and models ..I consider SK's 'Lil'Jack in D2 super steel the best value (under $75.00 right now ) for a EDC but Copper and Clad has some in S30V at a reasonable price too. 112's and 110's have never really been equal in number of options offered but it's closer than it's ever been. .

I'm looking forward to that 112LT. It sure is nice that C&C stocks so many variations of the 112. I've always preferred the 112 to the 110 for it's more manageable size.

A 112 auto sure would be awesome.

Tiguy 7 that BG42 112 is one of around 200 blades made in 2002 and the cost then was $35.00 and Buck kept the blade that was in it. I've seen one recently offered for sale that was in a 422 and only one other in a beat up frame back in 2007. or so..It's truly a rare 112 varation!

I wondered if they put out some production knives and had a few blades left over for swap outs. I sure liked that swap out program.

Na..BG42 was THE premium steel back then and lots of folks here wanted a 112 with it. Joe Houser was really active back then and we have him to thank for the blades. It was never a factory option and as far as I know the only place the trade in program was mentioned was here on the forum. They went fast ! I think the biggest reason so very few are ever offered for sale is only true fans of Buck and the 112 would send in a perfectly good 112 and basically the cost of a new one for the upgrade. And they hang on to them too. I know of 1 or 2 loose blades and really no knives for sale.
