I've been wanting a mid sized kukri style blade for awhile now. I love my 1246 Camp knife and its a great knife but the tip is a little thin because of the hollow grind and it doesn't have a lot of umph behind it. My Bk4s are my go to blades but again they are lacking in weight. I looked at the Bk21 but I just couldn't justify that much horsepower. I had this 1249 laying a around for awhile. It was a bit to heavy for what I wanted. Soooooo 11 inch blade with a Tooj Grip

I thought about getting one and I still might. I wanted the Tooj grip and a little longer blade than the combat. But the combat is so damn sexy that I will have to get it:)

Hell of job Tanker! That was some serious metal removal  it kinda looks like a short fat 21:). Not only dose it look a lot better it also looks like a chopping monster. What did you use to take off all that metal ?

I left it on my Wilton belt sander with a 60 grit belt. The one in the picture. For a week. Whenever I walked past i would hit it a pass. I did that until it was worked down. No more than 2 Passes to keep the heat in check. Thanks Xr

I have a 20 still in the box with the 5 and a snake charmer. Part of my 401k nife portfolio lol
Let me know what part of the island you at I all over with my job I will throw an extra 20 in the truck and drop off so you can understand the 20 hype as Ethans best IMO blade

As a Loaner, then your 20 will not be part of your portfolio, not a bad thing
estimate growth in value $ after 10 years X3
Satisfaction of using for 10 years Priceless

Thanks for the offer nuto. I work in Hauppauge right off the LIE. I use my Bk29 and love it. Maybe I should break out the 20 and use it to. I really really want to and I'm on the edge. Just give me a push lol

Keep your 20 in da box I pass Hauppauge at least 4 times a day office in Smithtown, can do a drop off, test have proven the 20 much better chopper than the 29 by Beckerheads maybe you chime in after the drop hope all good with you and yours again nice mod on the kukri.

Nice job Tankman, I’ll echo Xr and say that’s a crap load of metal removal. Looks great; love the lines. Never did like the swedge on the top and you fixed that up nicely. Awesome work!

Thanks Aiki I'm liking it a lot. Feels Great for sure.

Did a little thinning on the blade, etched the KABAR logo only, put on a 15º convexed edge. I took it out to a freshly fallen 6 inch diameter tree from the last Nor easter and chopped on it untill I was into the hard heart. Very pleased with the results and no rolled edge with the 15º edge. Now its time to strip the blade.

I asked a local how to pronounce the name of the town. He replied, “hophog.” Is this correct, or was he putting me on?

Lol Yeah that works. But pronounce it as one word not two words. I'm Born and raised in Florida and we use a lot of Native American words. Plus I'm friends with several Seminole Tribe members, so pronouncing the Native American names on longisland is second nature.
