I really really like my Bucklite Max folder. In my eyes it strikes a great balance between modern features, performance, value, and looks. And I really like that it has a more traditional "working knife" personality instead of being overtly "tactical" like many value-priced knifes with plastic handles.

Anyway, my only complaint on the knife is in he picture below, the bolstering on the spine that sticks up where your thumb wants to go...not only does it get in the way, but it makes the blade seem a little out of place visually (to me)

I decided to carefully sand the back side bolstering down flush with the spine.

Now it looks a little more traditional now to me, and it functions better in the hand. I consider it a great improvement.

Thanks for looking.

By they way... If you are considering doing this to yours, take a moment to consider if you rely on the back-side bolster to lever your index finger on when you open it with the thumbstuds. When it's gone, you will have to adjust your opening style a little.

Great idea! I actually did something similar to this with my Vantage Pro. The scales flare out along the sides of the knife, which is unnecessary from a grip point of view, for me, and made the knife 'poke' out a lot when clipped to my pocket. A few careful minutes with a scotchbrite belt on my belt sander and it's SO much better now.
