The title says it all. You can see what I did to my small classic a few weeks or so ago here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687484

This time, I did a large regular that I got off of the classifieds for this purpose. Good, bad or ugly, please tell my what you think.

That's very nice. It looks symmetrical, like you were careful to measure everything. The scallops on the handle go well with the ones on the back you've added. Also, from what I can tell by the photos the grooves seem to match the level of polishing on the rest of the handle excellently. Fine workmanship.

I like the grooves in the scales; it looks classier. I'm undecided about the filework whether it adds to the knife or not, but that's just me. Kudos for having the skills to do something like that. I couldn't even dream about doing something of that quality.

Wow, I like it a lot! How does the millwork on the top of the knife feel? Is it sort of rough on the hands? Nice job .

It is a little bit more aggressive than I thought it might be, but it isn't sharp and doesn't tear the thumbs up, so I guess it's all good. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Thanks for the compliments.

Very Nice Job. Definately one of the nicest sebbie mod jobs I have seen.:thumbup:

Fantastic job !! What youve done adds simple elegance very tastefully

done. I do think it might have looked a little classier without the file work in

the choil area on both sides of the handles. The file work on the top of the

handles adds to the great job youve done.

Did you keep trackof the numbers of hours this took you ??

You asked for opinions good and bad. However, since I don't like to slam people's attempts at mods, I kept quite on your first mod attempt.

Now I will speak ;) This attempt is pretty much a home run on all counts  You obviously spent a good deal of time laying out the pattern and the lines really work well. All the lines are in place and look at home on the knife. Nothing is spilling off and nothing is overdone. I also like the milling on the spine (only change I would suggest here is eliminate the two cutouts right behind the blade tang...).

Normally, I like my Sebenzas plain. This is literally the first (or maybe the second) patterned/engraved handle I've seen that I'd be happy to have on a knife of my own. Outstanding effort.

Man I love it................................
Let me know when you want to do a couple for me...............

Did you keep trackof the numbers of hours this took you ??

Yes, I've got about 2 hours in layout and planning and not quite an hour of cutting time in a CNC mill on this version. (plus countless hours thinking about what would be aesthetically pleasing and provide a more solid purchase on the handle)

Very cool.
I like it a lot.

It almost makes me forget about that ridiculous hole in the handle.

Not your fault, it's a Seb.

Thanks for the comments. Too bad all my other sebbies have inlays and I'm a bit short on cash or I'd be picking up a large Classic to mess with. Stay tuned for more projects :)
