This bad boy started off life as one of THESE before I got my hands on it. Without further ado, here's what I did to make this 19" beast:
1) Cut he hook off and re-profiled the point to make for a uniform taper and transition.
2) Removed the god-awful grey paint that the blade was covered in.
3) Put a convexed edge on the entire length of the blade.
4) Radiused the steel just above the handle where the blade flares to aid in comfort when choking up to use the edge at the base.
5) Squared the spine.
6) Briefly sanded the blade with fine sandpaper to reduce the coarseness of the surface finish (sort of a bright/smooth brush finish)
Point of balance is 6" forward of the grip which gives it a great degree of maneuverability while still letting it hit hard. The fine point will both pierce and drill with impunity, and the sweet spot is huge thanks to the wide blade (which broadens ever so slightly as it approaches the point.) The base of the blade is very manageable and usable, and will feather sticks without any loss of control or instability. The injection-molded handle that Imacasa/Condor is famous for will stand up to just about any kind of abuse you can throw at it--it's pretty much bomb-proof!
Asking $50 plus actual shipping, PayPal fees on me. I will ship internationally, but the purchaser assumes all responsibility for checking the legality of the item in their jurisdiction.
