If you've got any knives you've modified, I'd like to see some photos of your work here.

I just did the screwdriver to wood chisel conversion on one of my SAKs and I'm thinking about re-scaling it with some wooden scales too. It got me curious to see what else others have done to make their knives better.

This is a knife made by Micke, my friend from work.

Not made by me!

This is a customized SOG Tigershark.

The rubber grip and that awful kydex sheath have been thrown away :D

Now it has a handle made with ebony, stabilized birchburl and brass spacers.
The sheath is wetformed with detail in pewter.

The only pimping i made fully myself,
CRKT Bear Claw
Blade scrached, scales painted with fingernailpaint from my doughter + some stars, it was karneval-time. :D

I have some more modified knives, but mostly with some help by professionals, does this count too?

There was a nice threat about customizing factory knives in the gallery

Indeed, that adds so much class to the knife. He did an excellent job. Thanks for sharing.

Very, very nice. Quick question, what kind of tang was under all the rubber? Was it a full tang, more of a rat tail? I was thinking of slicing off the rubber handle on mine but was worried what I'd find underneath.

Best regards,

I remember that there where a quite normal "rat tail" tang underneath, allthough a bit long. He cut and grinded it down a bit but I don`t think there was too much work involved.
