I got a couple mini spear vala knives recently and decided to work over the handle on one. Still needs a little fine tuning.

I might offer it up with money going to Yangdu for the Nepal trip and Kami help.

In addition to a different look it added just a bit of girth to the handle which was a plus to my hand anyhow.

Plus I just needed to ingest a little sawdust, kind of cold and snowy round here again so excuse to go to my room.

Might just tackle the other one too.

My Marine son left this morning driving back to 29 Palms Marine Base. The snow over night is a major concern but should be ok especially once he gets to southern Oregon. Mom's worried and me too a little bit but he's young and tough. Long dang solo drive but he wanted his car.
Might help occupy my head a bit making more sawdust.

Looking good Mr. B! I like the girth increase, may not be too good for me though, my hands are kinda on the regular side. I am always impressed with your woodworking skills, mine, well, let's not get to talking about my poor shop skills.

The handle was borderline too small for me and I have small hands. The girth increase isn't dramatic but just ended up in the right place so it helps.
Already looking more gooder after a bit of work this morning.
I'm checkering the pommel end.
I'll post some more pictures after a bit if photobucket is cooperating today.
