My first attempt at stone washing and second attempt at anodizing.

Etched and ready for stone washing.

After a tumble.

Back Together.

nice work remnar, the color on it looks awesome! I always thought the Ti Sage was a little bland but you've certainly fixed that.

Thanks for the compliments gentlemen.
I know purple isn't for everyone, but I wanted something different. Something not as "bland" as the original. ;)

That is a sharp looking knife you have there. No pun intended lol.

I can't lie... I am a purple guy myself and that is just some friggin' sweet work you did there. Definitely won't be seeing another one of those floating around any where.

Wow! Great job! May I ask what you used to hold the scales together while stone washing?
Hope you don't mind me posting a picture of mine!

Nice! How did you do the stone washing? The 'Rocks in a jug" method or a real stone washing machine?

I want to keep my Sage 2 original, but yours came out so well that I might just pick up another and mod it.

Dude, that thing looks absolutely fantastic! Good work. It almost makes me want to buy a Sage 2 to let you give it the same treatment.

The white piece between the scales is a piece of nylon cutting board. I cut it out and drilled holes where the pivot pin and rear standoff are located and then did some shaping with my Dremel. I used the pivot pin, standoff, and screws that I got from the hardware store to screw it all together. I didn't want to stonewash the hardware and since the pivot pin and standoff were sealed between the scales, I wasn't worried about scratching them either. BTW all of the screws on the Sage 2 are M3-.5, and all of them are very short except one used to fasten the clip.

KrisOK,
I used a jug with ceramic tumbling media that I got from Harbor Freight. I used it dry and actually stonewashed the knife twice. For the initial stonewashing I let it tumble in the dryer for about 15 minutes. I then cleaned it thoroughly and anodized it purple. Then I stonewashed it again by gently shaking the jug for just a couple of minute. Afterward, I anodized it a second time to make the newly exposed Ti a gold color. The gold flecks are hard to see in the pictures.

Here's a new pic of the Sage with my Techno.

I like it a lot - especially nice touch to stone wash twice and add the gold highlights. Nicely done
