Modified pommel or not?

Within the near future I will be purchasing an ESEE-3. I am wondering what are the benefits or downfalls of having the regular sharpened pommel vs. the rounded modified pommel.

For reference, the knife will be used for general hunting, fishing and camping duties. Possible EDC knife during the cold months.

the standard pommel is nice for opening bottles, and in my experience, doesn't get in the way at all.

the standard isn't sharpened unless you go with the 3mil, and still isn't likely to be at all uncomfortable.

On the ESEE website, the standard ESEE-3 looks to have a sharpened pommel, though not as sharp as the 3-Mil.

I owned the standard model. The edges are subtly rounded and not sharpened from what I remember. The mil is the sharpened one.

^Yah, when I buy a #3 again it will have the modified pommel. It just seems more ergonomic.

If I wanted to have a SHTF knife with window breaking capabilities, I would go all out and get the Mil version.

Looks like most like the modified pommel. I'll give it a try I guess. Now, a more pressing issue: what coloration to get?

I would go for the rounded pommel for outdoor use because it works better with a baton for driving the knife tip first. With a small knife that can be nice for a variety of tasks.
