I really like the contour of the grip on my Spyderco Persian. It fits my hand better than any of my other knives, besides being better looking.
The only thing that used to annoy me was that the end of the clip used to dig slightly into the base of my index finger when gripping the knife.
I had tried removing the clip, since I don't use it anyway, but then I felt that the slim grip didn't quite fill my hand.
I finally tried the obvious solution last night - I reshaped the end of the clip with a pair of pliers so that it lies flat against the handle. Problem solved. Fit is perfect, and I'm no longer pinched by the clip.
The only other modification I would consider is rounding the edges of the steel liners along the bottom of the grip. They are not nearly as "sharp" feeling as the liners on my SERE 2000, but rounding the edges a bit would make them a little more comfortable. (This is an area in which knives with nested liners have an advantage, in my opinion.)
I've grown to like the steel bolsters / micarta, and the lack of G10 on the handle. The contour of the grip makes "grippiness" unnecessary for me, and the smoothness of the steel and micarta makes it easy on my pockets. (I've already lost 3 pairs of pants to the edges of G10 handles).
