Made some changes to the Clip Point Camp Knife that I recently made a couple of. I really like the size and shape of the Clip Point version but I drew one up with some mods and had to make myself one
I took the handle material and completely covered the tang. Also I ground this one more as a drop or spear point. I had originally ground it with a wide spine but then decided to take the bevels higher to take a few ounces off the blade end. I used 1/4in thick 5160 as usual and black/OD G10 for the handle scales. It sits at about 17oz right now which is still enough heft for chopping and batoning. There is a bit of spine that tapers off towards to point so the blade remains full thickness till about 2 1/2in from the point. here is a late night cruddy pic of it alongside the most recent Clip Point version.
