modified wharncliff (pic)

ATS34, hollow ground w/14" wheel. 3"blade, 6 1&2" OAL. Mirrored with norax belts and then cork belt w/green chrome. Heavily spalted maple burl, blue liner and mosaic pins. Bolster is 416ss and beveled on the edges and flat. Sheath is kydex lined, then leather wrapped, then wrapped with manta ray skin with belt(boot) clip.

Hey, there, excellent blade, but I have one honest question:

What is it that differentiates this "Modified Wharncliffe" from a "Spearpoint?"

I really don't know--not trying to nit-pick, especially on so nice a piece!

Spear point is probably a better description now that you bring it up.
I guess I liked the sound of 'modified wharncliff' better.:)
 
"Spearpoint" has a certain presence too, man... :D

That is one beautiful knife, with the prettiest piece of maple burl I've ever seen. I think that looks like blue (?) rayskin, and the surprizing blue liners really set it off. Not to mention the crispy grind and extra super-dooper finish. I guess I just haven't applied the patience, I use the same stuff for finishing as you, and mine look like bark compared to that. :( Did you taper the tang?

Tracy, this is awesome. Now I'd like to see the "Modified Wharncliffe" for real. :cool: You da man.
