I noticed that I had great difficulty opening my new SOG Zoom, it was tearing my thumb up. It must have been me because I showed it to a friend and he flicked the post with his thumb and had no trouble opening it. Truth be told though, another friend also had difficulty opening it and there are a couple of complaints posted on various sites where owners commented they had the same problem. I loved the knife and wasn't about to part with it so I had to find a solution. To make it easier fore me to open I added some SUGRU to the posts on both sides of the blade and now I just pinch the post and voilà, I can open it with ease! SUGRU is a silly putty type of product that dries into a hard silicone (see pics).

Welcome to Bladeforums. SUGRU is totally new to me - I'll have to check it out.

Firstly, your modification to the zoom actually looks very good besides having solved your issue. I had never heard of this product until now but I can imagine various applications.
