Modify Military 2 scales?

I saw a video where someone disassembled their Military 2 and the scales appear that the g10 could be ground away where the finger choil is and there is a bit of material there that you would not hit into the metal inset liners. Has anyone tried this so that the rear part of the index finger choil could be just blended into the handle itself?

You talking about just removing some of the point on the g10 portion of the choil? I think I saw that video as well. Personally I wish they would have left it rounded like the original.

Yeah to modify it more like the original. I had an original and it strangely just felt so right even though it may not look as ergonomic. I'm thinking the mod could be done but not enough to look right without the rounded bottom end portion of the blade showing out the bottom of the ground g10 scale?

There's little enough liner to accomplish that, but it looks to be the blade tang is large enough to prevent you from smoothing it out completely. You could definitely smooth it out some though.

Mine are modified in that area, but trying to show the tang placement~

Awesome, exactly the info I was looking for. Also the word "tang" had escaped my mind haha
