I'm taking part in a cqc training class and I'm trying to make my knives uniform. Can someone tell me how to securely relocate the clip on my Spyderco Military so it is tip up carry? I realize re-tapping the g-10 will void the warranty but this is a user not a vault queen. Thanks guys.

Retapping is how you'd do it. STR could help you out with that. He even offers low-rider clips in the For Sale: Gadgets & Gear forum.

I would make sure to tap the screws through the G10 and into the liner, so you don't strip out or crack the G10. I've never taken the screws out of one of my Spydercos to check, but I'm sure that's how they do it, the factory screws should be long enough. I know that's how Benchmade clips are attached.

I've always wondered why no one just uses the lanyard whole and a cross-shaped clip. Bend the ends of the short extended portions of the cross over the scales to prevent rotation.

I did a tin mock-up/trial and it appeared viable.

Thinking "out of the box", I guess.

Or, looking at the Strider folder clips, why not something similiar using the lanyard hole for the single bolt. That way only one staking hole need be drilled.
