Haven't had an Ek since the days CAI was blowing them out for $30...... yeah I know, if we only knew then.....
Anyway, I flipped the 3 I had years later and made some money.
Never really regretted it, but then, another iteration of the company released versions of the F/S and USMC Raider knives. Something like this.
I immediately fell in love, but there was no way I could justify the price tag.
So cruising the knife ads on another forum I found this for a reasonable price.
Well so far the project is going fairly well. Reprofiled the handle, and mounted some walnut in the place of the maple.
One side has the striations roughed in....
Will update when the project is finished.
If anyone knows a source for the brass handle screws, please let me know!
And yes, I realize that I have ruined the knife for some people.
However, Gunner doesn't seem upset....
