I ordered this knife for it’s size, steel and blade thickness .09 or .10. I wear XL gloves so I knew the 4” handle would be pushing my luck and it was, mostly due to the flare at the end that would press into my pinky. So I set up a redneck knife grinding station and moved the point of the flare back past my pinky. Now it’s a snug but comfortable fit, and it was really easy to do.

I’ll post pictures when I figure out how to, for some reason it’s not working

You got lucky.
I bought one of the featherweights, and had the same issue. I contacted Bark River to have them do the modification - their response was that the handle modification couldn't be done due to the way the tang was skeletonized. They sent a picture of one without handle scales; and grinding there would, indeed, have opened a hole at the edge of the handle.
Maybe they changed the skeletonization pattern, due to that being an issue?

Good point, and I considered that it might happen, in fact the steel might be very thin in that spot now. I figured if I went through I would just fill the space up with epoxy or something. It did not take much to make it comfortable. I’ll try to post pictures again.

I never asked that that, lol.
But I probably do not - I've purged my emails a few times since then - but I'll look later

Mike Stewart the owner said on Facebook that this mod is indeed risky and if you do grind through the thin section of tang it will ruin the knife.
