I am in the market for a Sodbuster jr and am really leaning towards the Case Sodbuster jr in CV. The issue is that I am not too fond of the yellow handle material and I cannot find the jr in anything but that. My question is, is it terribly difficult to rescale? I was thinking that micarta or maple burl would suit the knife very well. I have minimal experience with building folding knives but quite a bit with fixed blades. Has anyone had success with executing a project like this that would be willing to give some tips?

I have seen them with a black version of the delrin instead of yellow. Have never seen one with burl scales but you are correct that would be beautiful

Case makes the knife in Chestnut bone CV: http://www.wrcase.com/knives/view_all/chestnut-bone-cv/
An internet search indicates it is available from multiple vendors.

Love mine.

Just finished one in micarta recently. It's a good material, as it is quite durable. much less prone to cracking. Bone and wood can be used also.

Here's a F&F in snakewood.
