Modifying kydex sheath using glue/fabric.

Hi there. I am getting ready to buy an ESEE-5 and Junglas.

With that said, I really like their kydex and ballistic nylon sheath options. I am going to order the accessory pouch and molle back for the ESEE-5 in OD green, but the black kydex is kind of off-putting.

I was thinking of ordering some multicam fabric and glueing it to the front of the kydex.

Any thoughts on what type of glue to use, and should I abrade the kydex first with sandpaper for better adhesion?

why not spraypaint it to match the pouch?
the kydex should have plenty of texture to hold some glue, though.

I thought about using krylon but reading about it here and elsewhere it tends to flake apparently. To properly adhere one needs to let it set for weeks if not months. :(

I just painted a Serpa holster yesterday with Brownell's Aluma-Hyde. Let it set in the sun to help cure time, seems well set today. Time will tell about longevity.

rattlecan it with Krylon "camoflauge" paint, available at Wal-MArt.

you can also use "high end" rattlecan paint. there are some model aircraft paints and Alumahide.

or you can use an airbrush paint like Gunkote.

yes... ir mat wear on on the edges. spray it again.

or find a sheath maker to make you one comparable with the pouch and MOLLE back from colored kydex.

all depends on how important the color is to you and how much you want to spend.
