Modifying LM Micra?

So I bought a bright red Micra about a month ago; it worked fine, I loved it, but I had a few gripes with it: the red color started flaking off almost instantly upon contacting my keys (it was coated, NOT anodized, and I think they use revlon nail polish or something), it had no can opener, and the screwdriver was too wide to remove the screws on the back of the Photon II the micra is usually clipped to.

Last night I was bored so I sanded off the remainder of the red coloring and used a small bench stone to 1. grind down the small screwdriver to be shorter and slimmer (now fits itty-bitty photon battery-change screws) and 2. sharpen the bottle opener to open cans as well (which I later tested on a soup can -- a bit difficult, but it works in a pinch).

I'd really like to dismantle the thing in order to clean out the steel dust and get the red coating out of some hard-to-reach spots. Has anyone done something similar or am I the only loser out here with a "tricked-out" Micra?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Novadak- with any luck, Vampire Gerbil will find your post and reply. He is considered by many to be the foremost Micra expert on his home planet.

Unless I've completely lost my mind, I responded to a similar post about a week ago. Can't find it now so it's either been deleted or I'm beginning to have "visions".
In case of the latter, I must say that I'm frightened.

In any event, Nova, I only use a stock Micra without any modifications.
In my "vision" I'd mentioned that I got the stainless steel version cuz it was cheaper ... plus they didn't offer it in any other color.

The only modifications made were simply done by adding the Micra to other devices (pistols, rifles, shotgun shells, hand grenades.... you know, the usual stuff)

Remember, the onl practical use for the Micra is a devistatingly effective weapon of medium destruction. The screwdriver, scissors and other "gimmicks" can be used to "encourage" the enemy to quit trying to steal my ..er... I mean, a PERSON'S lunch money.

I have to admit, that the thought of taking the Micra apart to totally trick it out does seem to hold some fascination for me.
Then again, any small shiny object fascinates me.

Give it a try, Nova, let's see what you come up with!

I wrote most of that at work after drinking massive amounts of coffee. I needed to look busy and that dribbled out of my head. There's also a whole bunch of Optical Illusions.
