Heyz guys out there, I purchased my SpecWar a couple of days ago, and I have sort of modifyied it for myself.. I hand polished the clip and the screws to a bright mirror finish, and engraved my name on the clip, so it looks kinda cool to me. Have anyone of you folks out there tried doing this?? any pics??
I have also since then polished my Microtech® LCC to a mirror finish, both blade and bolsters...
btw, this is my third Emerson® knife since 1 month ago, when I bought my first the LaGriffe, and then the SARK, and now the SpecWar. What other models do you guys think I should get ??
I can't seem to find the SOCFK being carried by my local dealers, and btw, what is the difference between the SOCFK, and the SpecWar?? besides the Wave® feature..?

Lin,

The SOFCK has the CQC 7 blade with the wave. It is a wider blade. It is only carried by Extreme Outfitters right now.

There are a few other differences between the SOCFK and the Specwar. Like you noted, the SOCFK has the wave feature and the specwar does not. Also the SOCFK has file work on the back front (behind blade) and bottom rear where your little finger is. The specwar just has "serrated liners" for grip. (BTW is the term "file work" the correct term ... that's at least what I would call it)
Also (unfortunately) the SOCFK is (for now) only available in black T and 1/2 serrated (unless you have a prototype or test and evaluation) I have a Tanto SOCFK and I love is (the specwar is a great design), All Emersons are totally awesome!!!

Oh, also as AncientSUL pointed out, the socfk was only available through Extreme Outfitters and was a limited run.

I forgot to add: Yes many people do modifications to there Emersons, I have seen some pictures BUT someone please post more pictures, I would love to see other customizations!!!

I have modified 2 Emersons. One Commander, now mirror polished blade, clip, screws and liner edges (this lines up the G-10 with the liners). Also did the liner and clip treatment on a CQC-7. I have since sold the 7, but still have the Commander. As soon as I find a plain edge Specwar, I plan to customize it too. Dremmel tools are amazing devices!

I just finished customizing a SOCFK for See 2 Ti bolsters-Micarta scales all bead blasted.
It will ship to him today,he stated that he would post pic's when he received it so they should be up later this week.

linjunpei and anyone else wanting tips on posting photos on the forums. You may want to look at this string. There is some great information and a practice area for posting pictures and clickable thumbnails.

Hey guys! Can't wait to get my SOCFK back, and see the great job Kevin did on it! I'll definitely post pics (maybe I'll get dramatic and pose the knife with my Beretta) when the nice post office (or was that UPS, Kevin) guy brings it to the house.
