Modifying my Spydercard

I've been a fan of the discontinued Spydercard for awhile and have carried one in the wallet or with kydex belt sheath. Carrying it in a sheath helped a lot but it didn't deploy as fast as I'd like.

So I converted my Spydercard into a tip up carry with a Tsunami mod. Carrywise, the knife does show a bit but this is more of an experiment than anything.

Hi Smoke,

I'm not able to distinguish the mod from the pic. Can you offer more input? What is the clip made out of? How is it fastened?

Is there anyone else that thinks a card model would be better with a clip?

I could be wrong but it looks like it has a "wave" opening feature added by cutting the hole near the front.
 
Sal, I hope you got a good chuckle from the pic. :)

The actual clip is from a knock off folder and is attached by a Chicago screw and a washer. I copied the Wave feature from the Waved Spyderco rather than cut into the Spyderhole.
 
I've been working on a smooth execution and still tweaking a few things. The Spydercard (or Expresscard as I call it) waves pretty well but I've had to cut a deeper wave and grind down the bottom corner opposite the pocket clip.

The bottom corner actually snagged on the pants while drawing, bunching up on the pocket. I've found that when the pocket clip wiggled it would effect my grip and thus effect a proper draw.

Hello Sal,

the card was ok as it was, maybe just another finish, you know about those rust problems for sure (beadblasted).. I think the main idea was to carry it inside wallet, so there is really no need for a clip. I hope there is a another style S-Card in progress ;) (I would like something in the style of Dialex´s Akimbo..) The goal is to keep it as a card, but improve ergonomics for EDC use.

I couldn't see the mod either?

The card had it's purpose, as 224477 mentioned...HOWEVER:

adding YOUR clip will always "create" more carry options, therefore making the SC much more versatile.
