Modifying some INFI...

To paraphrase Steve Earl "I ain't ever satisfied...". I've got a couple of Busse's that I'd like "tweaked" to suit me better and I know some of you guys have the talent and the tools, if anyone wants to make a few bucks and has the time, shoot me an email or PM.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Got a Muddy MS that I'd like the "hog's foot" rounded on, possibly a swedge, more of a slicer edge, maybe sand the micarta, maybe a useable choil...

Got a Skeleton Warden that I'd like to see the handle edges "rounded" more to make it more comfortable, also inserts in the handle (forget the name of the one's like this from the custom shop), maybe a swedge, choil, and thinner edge, possible recoat (duracoat, etc)...

Got a .310 FBM with black and blue mags that I'd like to see hand shaped, maybe a thinner edge, possible swedge....

I don't trust myself to do any of this and I imagine it'd be pretty pricey to have the shop do it, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Should I bite the bullet and ask the shop, farm it out, or just live with them the way they are?

I hesitate to modify them, because I trade so darn much, but nothing seems to be moving right now, so I figure why not make them keepers...

Thoughts?

I send mine to Bill Siegle. He does good work. I've seen some of Ban's work as well and it looks badass.

Justin at Ranger knives does some nice custom work as well, I think Ive seen him do some work on Busses from time to time.

Grinducci does work that is... well... simply amazing.

oh if only these were infi... well. heat treated infi. having non heat treated infi blanks would be kinda retarded.

*these are sitting in a box at my door waiting for tomorrow when I ship them to the boss hog*

I could so hammer forge the blades into the gnarliest cave man spoon you've ever seen... a bird beak pommeled cave man spoon no less.

on a side note, man I love my canon xti... cheap, not nearly as good as the 5d hooked up to the 28-70 f/2.8L I sold, but awesome for what it is. I got a sony w200 to replace my w100 and I just haven't been that impressed with it... I kinda wish I had kept the w100. or, way more then that, I wish they had kept the sensor of the w100 and moved it over into the w200's body. or even better, make it with a larger then 1/1.7" sensor. GOD what I would give for a fast focus, fast start up, fast shot to shot time ultra compact camera with a high quality sensor. and manual mode.... if stupid sigma would get off their butts (though they make AWESOME low price lenses) and start producing fovean cameras....
