Modifying the Enlan EL-03 Hawkbill

I got an interesting hawkbill folder a little while ago.

While I like hawkbills they tend to have a feature that annoys me a lot, the blades stick out from the handle a lot in the close position.

So i set about fixing that problem on this one.

It turned out rather well.

so now you have two positions for the closed blade right ?

one where the blades sits deeper and one where the detent functions as it should ?

Not really. You can find the original detent if you feel carefully for it, but it's not biased toward that position. It closes all the way just fine. I may add a new detent hole later and fill in the first one, but it's ok for now.

is that carpet on the ground? make sure to get a good vaccume cleaner, you dont wanna step on any peices of stray metal with your bare feet.
