Hi all,

I really like the Spyderco Centofante design a lot.....the sleek design, the knife grind.

but I hope it can have a liner or frame lock instead of the Lockback its having now, please, if anyone could help, advise me on where can I get a modification.

Thanks a million.......

cool

There have been several collaboration models between Spyderco and Frank Centofante, with another coming in his memory. If you are talking about the Centofante 3 (which is the only one currently in production) it would probably be easier to make a new knife from scratch than to change the lock from backlock to liner lock.

I'm like yab. I think it would be cheaper to wait for the new Spyderco Centofante Memory, than to do what you propose. The Memoey is titanium, with carbon fiber handle inserts, and VG-10 blade steel. It is either a liner lock or a framelock, can't tell for sure from the pic.

To convert the current centofante you would probably have to remove the blade, toss the rest, then design and make a whole new frame for the blade. May as well have a custom knife made. :D Like others have said you should check out the Centofante Memory - it's a real beauty.

from the pic boozoo posted it is definitely a liner lock. Very purty knife indeed.

That probably wouldn't work either, there wouldn't be room on the tang to cut a liner lock face. About the best you can do is find the older Vesuvius with the Compression Lock.
