I've looked around for a long time and I've come to wonder why there aren't more modular knives out there. I'm not trying to sell stuff and I'm too busy to be making anything but it seems to me that there would be a market for a knife where you can more or less just choose which kind of lock you want and then build a knife to your liking. You want a knife with stag handles, brass hardware and S35V drop-point blade that uses an axis lock? You've got it. You want the same knife, but with carbon fiber scales and titanium hardware? Sure thing. You want a clip point instead? Go right ahead.
Not necessarily like Surefire lego where you can swap it all, but a line of knives in 2 sizes in which all but the size-specific hardware and blades can be changed to your liking or readily made by another manufacturer.
Any ideas for this? The same concept has been around for multitools for a while now, but I've yet to see it done for knives other than knife-making kits.
