Mohd's salary as Conscience Officer?

That reminded me of Rabindranth Tagore's poems I'd read several months ago, and still remembered!

"I slept and dreamed that life was all joy,
I woke and saw that life was but service,
I served and discovered that service was joy."

Sounds like quite a nice salary to me.

Agreed, Mohd's salary is priceless, but since I really only need one bowl of rice a day, I will donate the others to Mohd in the spirit of khukuri brotherhood.

Tagore is one of my favorites. He can join Omar Kayham and Kipling as resident poets in the cantina. We’re going to have to invite Rumi in someday.

Mohd, perhaps we should add our literary inspirations to the official cantina roster?

Wonderful and beautiful stuff that has everything to do with khukuris.

Mohd, you and I have dealt with one another from a distance of half a world for a couple of years now. You address me as Pakcik and treat me like one, good Moslem that you are.
Based on our close relationship from afar (as Hemingway might say, "a double dicho")I have complete faith and confidence that you will fulfill your duties as Conscience Officer with dignity, grace and absolute competence.

Koz,
YOU ARE "such" a generous guy! What else can you give away?hee!Just to help in your "spirit" of giving, how many K's can i expect from you?Remember Koz, it's better to give!
Just trying to help you attain a "higher" level!

I remember my father comparing my conscience to a knife when I had told a lie. I think I was maybe 6 or 7 at the time."It's much easier to dull than to sharpen, lies and dihonesty are rocks and stones that will nick your blade and make it useless"

Jim, I'm just an average fellow. Nothing much and as that famous philosopher Pogo said "Human Beans are the best kind o' beans."

As for giving, not all that is given is physical, even philosophy is of value....

I think our hard-working Conscience Officer should get a 5% raise. With the current state of the world.... Come to think of it, doesn't your hard-working Grammar Disciplinarian deserve a raise too? I have a lot of expenses, you know -- the chamomile tea budget keeps growing -- lately I need a cup of chamomile tea almost every time I read the news at www.cnn.com -- people keep saying things "in a statement"! I would like to kill them -- in a killing! I can see the headline now ...

OUTRAGED GRAMMAR DISCIPLINARIAN KILLS A CNN COPY EDITOR IN A KILLING

"I just couldn't stand it any more. I didn't use one of Bill Martino's HI khukuris to do it because even though they are guaranteed to stand up to the roughest use I wouldn't soil a fine knife with the contaminated blood of a subhuman monster," the killer said in a statement. Cougar's lawyer has entered an insanity plea on his behalf....

Hmmm...Cougar, was the plea on behalf of the lawyer or yourself?

And most unusual! Things like this happen when Cherokees get together. It was a sign for us but it is up to us to interpret the sign. My Grandmother would know exactly the meaning but, sadly, she was not able to teach me as much as she wanted so I am uncertain as to the meaning of the incident. I think I know but cannot say and must keep this to myself. My Cherokee Grandmother was a fine teacher but I was a rotten student.

... little bird came by the computer shack this AM and told me he had something for Mohd ...
It might be my soul in the form of a little bird paid you a brief visit ... wa-(A)llaahu-aa'lam!
... a sign for us ...
Yes! A Malay called it as bahasa alam (ie. nature's sign langguage).
