Anyone have side by side comparisons of the Mojo and Mistress? I am curious to see the size and design differences... and thoughts on use and overall performance would be great to hear as well!

Cheers

...adding to the fun. If you had to choose between one of them, either the BM-E or the Mojo, which would it be and why???

It really depends on your intended use. The BM-e will be the better chopper and general utility, the Mojo the better fighter.

The Mojo is lighterweight but that doesn't mean it is more destructible, remember it is still a Busse. ;)

I really like the Mojo but you really have to hold one to understand, it is unbelievably comfortable in the hand.

:D:D

I have the Battle Mistress, but not the Mojo. (I'm hoping to get a Flying Mojo, after I've finished successfully expanding my business.)

It's my impression that the Mojo is more self-defense oriented, and the Battle Mistress is more outdoors-utility oriented. (Someone who has both: correct me if I'm wrong.) I'm sure either knife would work quite effectively in either role; but, neverthless, I think they are optimized for those two different purposes.

Mtn-

Howdy! Just a quick rundown on specs. I measured both my mojo le, and my bm.

BM blade is about 9 inches long. The mojo is about 7.5 long. Both have the E handle and are very comfortable.

The Mojo is much lighter, and I would use it as a fighter. I have been practicing with it, and it is very light and nimble. I think that it would be a very capable chopper, but not like the BM, which has that added umph. I used my BM to chop bamboo this weekend, and it did a steller job. If you want something that is pure survival, get the BM. If you want a nice fighter, that could also be a (semi/good) chopper, get the Mojo. Personally, I think you should get both. They each have their nitch.

Think of this way. The BM is a BMW 750. Large and roomy. The Mojo is a Porche 911 turbo. Fast. They do different jobs.....but are rewarding in the end.

Just my .02

while I agree with Eric and Evolute, I really liked the analogy from Wilco !!

Touche !

:D I've done somewhat exhaustive side-by-side comparisons between the MOJO, the BME, the SHE, the Straight-handled Battle Mistress, and the Straight-handled Steel Heart.
In a side-by-side comparison between the MOJO and the BME, I've found that the MOJO takes to light chopping (swung from the elbow using just the forearm, like swinging a hammer driving a nail as opposed to full power swings using the sholder and back) very well.

Better in fact, in my opinion, than the BME, fully as well as the Straight-handled BM. I found the MOJO to be superior in use versus light brush, vines, or wet material (elephant ear philadendrons).
When used with full power strokes against hard woods, the MOJO did not cut as deeply, and it hurt my hand.

I think the MOJO is the most "FUN" knife the Jerry has made so far. I had hoped to replace my straighthandled BM with it.
The MOJO's distal-tapered profile lends itself to machete-style chopping.
But in the end, I came back to wanting my Straight-handled Battle Mistress in my bugout bag. I feel the need for a more capable hardwood chopper, more suitable for making shelter since I don't want to carry an axe.
Give some thought to what you want the knife to do.
If you'll setting for light to moderate chopping, go with the MOJO. You will be happy.:) :)

Great job Andre. I think you really nailed it on the head with that comparison.

Thanks guys! That was exactly the kind of insight I was looking for... this purchase (of course there will be more) I wanted to get the best knife to have in my bug-out bag. For that purpose the BM-E wins the vote... and once I have a few more bucks to play with I will try to decide on a fighter. The pics of Mojos on badmojo.tv look great as does some of the varient SE's and NO's... By the time I have more cash to spend who knows what the best choice will be! I will keep my eye on Jerry and the forums!

Cheers
