What do we know about the Moki Colon neck/pendant knife? Is this a decent and useable knife? Or is it just a gimmick and waste of money?

Never tried a Moki Colon. However, Moki does not make crap. Not sure if it is usable because of the size, but I am certain the fit and finish will be immaculate. I've never seen or heard of any Moki knife that had quality issues.

As Frank said, Moki doesn't make crap. The same factory makes or has made knives for Spyderco, AG Russell, Kershaw, Al Mar, and others. Moki knives themselves are widely regarded as being near-custom quality. Most commonly recommended and owned here is their Fish Owl knife, a simple micarta handled lockback. Everybody that owns one (myself included) can't say enough good about them. Heck, even the nylon sheath and box they ship in are uncommonly nice.

As for the Colon, it's up to you whether it's a proper knife or just a novelty. A 3/4" blade is of rather limited usefulness. Then again, I on occasion wear a Spyderco Police necklace (titanium handles, ATS-34 blade, too small to be of use), so if you like it, why not get one? You can be assured it'll be of excellent quality.

I bought a Moki pendant knife for a family member and a friend bought one at the same time. Excellent knives not as small as the Colon, but small. They were fully functional. Good edges, plus good walk/talk.With Moki you get a good product.

I carried a knife with such a blade length everyday for over a year, for tape and string...ect.
It was extremely useful for such tasks and had no probably with such tasks and for opening packages or mail.
If moki quality is truly everything I've heard it I'd then I'm sure it has some usefulness.
