mokume+balisong

Could a balisong be made with mokume handles? Maybe with abalone inlay and a sculptured blade.... I'm sure it'd be real inexpensive. I don't know much about mokume, would it be a suitable material for a handle?

Mokume can vary in composition. I have made it from brass and copper and in the next week or so I will make some with copper and nickel silver. I have a Bailsong with brass handles so I guess Mokume would be okay as long as it wasnt abused.

Yes, in general, it would work just fine.

And it would be exceptionally nice with Devin Thomas mokume.

It would work fine, but as you say it would make for a very expensive knife. Mokume comes in at or above the price per inch of most of the Damascus out there. It would make for a very interesting knife though, wouldn't it?

My wife told me this morning that I needed to take my new model and put mokume on it and a damascus blade. I think that it would hold well also as long as you don't beat it up.
