Molded hand grips

saw this on sale at menards so i figured i would pick it up http://www.toolking.com/fastcap-5-inch-x-5-inch-my-grip-custom-grip-sheet-in-safety-orange

Any body ever used this on a knife i was thinking about putting them on a blank over a small piece of corian

looks cool enough. I would think of it as an alternative to cord wrapping, or just bare steel, that is as a temporary thing.
 
I've handled that or something like it and it would not be suitable for a knife handle unless you didn't mind it getting really beat up since it's relatively soft.
 
I wonder how long it holds it's shape. The descriptions says " It sticks to anything, yet can be peeled off and molded over and over again." It could be useful as a guide for shaping handles to better match the customers hand and give it that little extra custom touch.
