So, the wife and I went to arts festival down the hill today. She promise that there would be knives. Well, there weren't any at the festival, but in a case on the counter of an antique store, there was one.
Pulled it out, gave it a cursory glance at what it was and asked what they were askin' for it. Clerk had to search out the owner to get a price and I went through my experience in these matters and guessed they were goin' to ask more than I was willin' to pay.
Well, it came home with me. Needs some love, but here she is......

Tang stamp is Case Tested XX from 1920-1940.Main blade is just about gone, scales are pretty shot, springs are weak and she is DIRTY. But, I'll clean her up and give her a nice place to live with other knives. Not bad, right?

By the way, I paid a whole Four Dollars for her.

Thanks for lookin' and sharin' my joy.

Looks like fun! You might consider keeping that celluloid away from any other knives....

Great find. If it could only tell the stories of the places it's been.

Dave, be careful with that knife -- the reason the bolsters look like they do is that the scales are celluloid that is breaking down and outgassing (notice how the corrosion is worse the closer to the scale the bolster gets). You need to be sure to keep that knife away from all your others -- and that means don't even have it in the same drawer or cabinet as your others. Unfortunately, once celluloid starts breaking down, there's no stopping it, but you can keep it from accelerating by keeping it where it can get fresh air and no direct sunlight or heat.

Thanks guys- it'll be in it's own place, but still admired. Oh, the stories it could tell.........
Anyone know what the little hole in the end of the long bolster is for?
