Just got this Ray Cover canoe. It's in great shape but it is probably an older one. There are several places in the stag crevices that have a greenish tint. I have never seen this kind of thing before and was wondering what it might be and what if anything I should do about it? What say ye?

It's polishing compound. Soap, water, and a toothbrush will take it out, as will WD 40 and a toothbrush.

Sometimes you get green like that from corroded brass liners or bolsters. The solution is still just to clean it out.

Bill nailed it. It's buffing rouge. If it bugs you clean it out. I have left it on a few knives that I got that way from the maker. It just reminds me of what he did to the knife.

Nice looking knife by the way. Any pictures of it open?
