Molle back or not for an ESEE 4?

I'm gonna buy a 4 from Dale tomorrow, just wanted to ask what your opinions were on the Molle back.. Is it waist belt capable? so I can EDC..?? Does it flip over the pummel?( I don't see myself jumping out of any planes in the near future with it) is it worth the extra money?

It's primary function (as of now) will be a back up to a larger blade for woodswork.. But I may EDC it from time and again.

Help me decide, with molle back or without??

Thanks,

for belt carry, get the molle back. its an excellent edc with the molle back. the molle clips are only good for mounting onto backpacks etc.

both

I hike with an RC-4 on my pack or on my belt, with just the molle clips. You'll like either one.

I've got the molle back - it's handy when you need it and easy to remove when you don't.
yes, it has a belt loop and elastic to flip over the end of the handle.
It also fits the esee3 sheath.

I like the molle back because I believe it is jump proof sheath, not going to come out or fall out...more over you fall on it or stab yourself during some psychical activity. It is tremendously versatile as well as great quality. This is one of the best sheath designs in my opinion.

You probably already ordered it, but get the molle back.

I predict if you don't get it now, you will get it later.

Thats what happened to me. Sooner or later your gonna get one.
Well worth it too. edgy

I bought my 4 with just the clips and now am thinking I should have gotten the molle back instead. It seems that the molle clips don't allow me to carry it on my belt that well. Also, this is my first ESEE so it may just be me.

It is not "just" you, I personally do not like the Molle Clips at all. :thumbdn:

I much prefer a Tek-Loc & carry the RC3 in the horizontal position. :thumbup::thumbup:

The Molle Back is a different story. I like it a lot and carry the RC4 vertical from the belt with it.:thumbup::thumbup:

Best of luck........ :)

Where is the best place to purchase the Molle Back and Pouch for the 6 (which I just orderd - my first ESEE)?

Almost all of the esee dealers sell them. All my esee gear is ordered from Dale at TKC. Superb service and fast shipping

I just got my ESEE 4 today.. I've been meaning to buy from Dale for a while now, but he was out of HESTs back in the day so I moved on..

But I bought this one from him.. Thanks Dale.. I got the molle back and its good and thick.. I think I'll do a review on this badboy, Its going to be my new EDC soon (if It carry's like my HEST) once I give it some field time, HEST will not be happy:mad:..

The MOLLE back is the way to go. The clips won't allow for anything but the thinnest belts to pass through, unless you want to attach it to a pack or vest. I carry the RC-4 vertically and horizontally with equal ease. It's actually easier to remove from the sheath in the horiz. position when the rig is on the belt in the very front. I actually have two that I use (Orange G10/OD green blades) that are set up differently. One with the MOLLE back, the other in its' Kydex sheath only. The Kydex only piece is easily slipped into a front or back pocket for quick use. I do this with a couple of RC-6's as well.
