moly resin

I've used epoxy, polyurethane, polyester, and phenolic resins, to mention a few.
I see moly resin is a self-lubricating phenolic resin which contains molybdenum disulfide...
I don't see the benefit in knives.

I know it's used as a rust resistant coating on guns, i was thinking about coating the blade with it but was wondering if it would rub off too easy

and protect it from rust, maybe i'm misunderstanding what it does? but i was thinking that the lubricant part would also help stuff like sap to not stick to the blade
