Mom-in-law gave me an old peanut!

I was helping my elderly Mother-in-law take some groceries up to her appartment, and when I set the bags down I noticed this old Case Peanut sitting in a dish next to her sink. I picked it up to examine it and she could tell that I liked it, so she gave it to me. She has no idea where she got it, only that it's been around for a while and she says never used it.

Compared to my new yellow CV peanut I'm noticing that the liners, scales and bolsters are all noticably thinner on the old knife. The scales look like jigged bone but feel like plastic or delrin, and theres an "easy-open" notch in the scale for the pen blade. The pen blade is smaller on the old knife and the clip blade has a swedge and eight dots on the tang stamp. The opposite side of the main tang is stamped 6220.

Any Idea what year this might be?

It looks like its earley 70's or 80's. How many dots are their under the "USA" stamp?

OK, so I did a little reasearch and found it to be a 1972 but I'm still unsure of the scale material. Thanks for having a look.

You do realize now, that you can never, ever, say anything bad about your mother in law again. Never!
:D
