Son-In-Law installing dishwasher.
Under sink.
Asks, "You gotta knife?"
Aiyeeeee!!!
Tentatively hand over Delica.
He....CUTS.... with it and then tosses aside.

I died a thousand deaths.

:D :D

at least it wasn't a sebenza or a william henry knife or something.

spydercos are tough.

shoulda smacked him though.

It's a knife. A tool. Not some priceless, delicate work of art. It's meant to be used and then sharpened once it's lost its edge.

There needs to be a campaign to educate knife pansies that are afraid to use their knives...:D

Well, he didn't exactly...... "THROW" ....it.

But....NEITHER did he gingerly wipe the blade and fold it carefully into the handle making sure that there were no dust motes or errant threads or other detritus on the gleaming VG-10 fully serrated cutting surface.

:D

KNIFE PANSIES.......... INDEED
snif

Was this Delica autographed by Sal Glesser with a Sharpie?

Delicas are pretty much disposable, like any other FRN handled knife.

Man up and install your own dishwasher.;) :D

I see nothing wrong with what he did. He was using the knife as a tool. I would do the same thing and then clean it when I was done with the project.

Delica's are tough man ....aint nothing it can't handle. ;)

I think it doesn't matter that it was his knife. It matters that you should just treat other peoples things with respect when you borrow them. Even if I just borrow something as cheap as a pen, I hand it back to them or set it down, I dont just toss it on the floor and say "Here you go."

Twice I've lent my knife to someone, just to have them do something better suited to a screwdriver, chipping out the edges. No more, I do the cutting, or the person in need learns to buy their own.

And who the hell tosses knives around while working.

Delicas are pretty much disposable

Now I'm dying the 1,001st death.

SACRILEGE !!!!!!

:D

I don't know that this applies in this situation. After all, he did lend the guy his knife to use. BUT, that does not mean that I haven't thought this exact same thing a million times over. You've just said what I have been to chickensh*t to say. :D

There are two things that are wrong with the situation:

1)Your son-in-law did not have a knife of his own to use.:thumbdn:

2)Your daughter did not inform him of your passion for your knives, or if she did he simply does not care.:thumbdn:

Maybe it's time to educate the young lad.;)

Good luck,
Allen.

One word:

Annulment

Unless, he was installing YOUR appliance. In which case do not suggest he take it on the heel and toe. Instead, enter into a knife pitching contest or whatever else he fancies to keep him around.

Satire comes with a warning label now! Who knew.

Yeah, I suppose I was only half joking... :)
